Venue will be at the Wonderbar, located inside The Sultan Hotel at 101 Jalan Sultan Road (it's situated directly opposite the Textile Centre). Just head up to level 2 and turn to your right.

 TIKO DISKO is a curator offering a unique vantage point and new perspectives to the eclectic backbeat of vintage Asian music. Extending a pop archaeology reach to the sounds of Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaya, Singapore and Indo-China in the 60s, 70s and the early 80s, the results is nothing short of an infectious fusion of exotica meets western soul, spaced out jazz, raw funk and rock and the meditative chill grooves of AOR.

WHY TIKO DISKO?

Tiko is a state of lust and eroticism. “Tiko” is a popular term from the Hokkien Vernacular for Lecherous. It is most often used to describe folks who are horny and lascivious, or have an appetite for eros. Disko, well, that’s just a play on the word disco.

The brainchild of Sir Chico Montagut & Tiko Jackson (aka KiDG), Tiko Disko was conjured up to revisit the glory days of Asian funk, sultry disco & adult-oriented rock. Re-labeled as 'Jizz Funk & Jacuzzi Soul', the music from Tiko Disko will bring you back to a time of uninhibited free love and guilty pleasures, where the cocktail soul of kitschy tea-dances rubbed alongside the psychedelic funk coming from the Asian Agogo bars.

This is the stuff you’d find in bargain bins or at the back of your dad’s record collection, music that's been misunderstood and marginalized for decades. But now it's time to give these good old dirty tunes the love they deserve, and you’ll never be shy to admit to liking them ever again.
